PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that can print on a small area with a small sound without damaging both of front and rear faces of a plate to be printed and is superior in the operability in the printer which prints on a plate such as a preparation glass plate. SOLUTION: The printing is performed by returning the plate to be printed in a thermal transfer recording system wherein a supply path of the plate and a printing conveyance path are united to be a common path. A means that provides a gap between a plate at the lowermost stage and the other plates when taking out the plate at the lowermost stage from a hopper cassette one by one and a delivering means having a conveyance pawl for delivering the plate by urging the rear end thereof are provided to the printer. The plate is conveyed by a plurality of conveyance rollers that convey the plate by nipping the both sides thereof in synchronism with a platen roller so that the front and rear faces of the plate are not damaged.
