PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retina scanning type display which is free of a chromatic aberration and has small various aberrations and small image distortion. SOLUTION: When a video signal is inputted from outside, a video signal supply circuit 3 outputs the video signal 4, a horizontal synchronizing signal and a vertical synchronization signal. Laser light beams of three colors generated based upon the video signal 4 are synthesized and made incident on a scanning mirror 30 from a 2nd collimation optical system 18 through an optical fiber 17. Then a scanning mirror 30 scans the laser light horizontally and vertically in synchronism with the horizontal and vertical synchronization signals and the scanned laser light is made incident on a mirror surface 41a of a concave mirror 41 of a reflection optical system 40 and reflected three times between the mirror surface 41a and a mirror surface 42a of a convex mirror 42 to enter the pupil 24 of an observer at a position conjugate to a scanning mirror 42, so that the light is projected on the retina.
