PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce evaluation man-hours of a CAD data evaluation device, and to widen its application. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with an evaluation value calculation means 102 for calculating shape complexity of object CAD data inputted from a CAD data input means 101 and model structure complexity, a retrieval means 104 for retrieving reference CAD data corresponding to a complexity condition from a reference CAD database 103, an evaluation value calculation means 106 for calculating the shape complexity and the model structure complexity from the retrieved reference CAD data, and a display means 105 for displaying the evaluation values by the means 102 and 106, by taking the shape complexity on the abscissa and the model structure complexity on the ordinate. Since a CAD system is not used, the man-hours at the evaluation time of a large quantity of optional models can be reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
