PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of detecting a biochemical sample making it possible to simplify detection processes in a manner assuring good reproducibility for the method of detecting fluorescently-modified double-helix DNA, while not requiring much skill on the part of a measurer, increasing the accuracy of detection, and consisting of simple processes; and a detection chip for fluoroscopy. SOLUTION: Probe DNAs are aligned on a thin film of gold formed on a glass substrate, in such a manner that the probe DNAs together form a loop structure with their open terminals located on the thin film so that, when there is a target gene, hybridization occurs, releasing the loop structure. Thus when fluorescent labels are provided, fluorescence is emitted only from the hybridized probe DNAs. Alternatively, when the DNAs are modified after the hybridization, it is possible to fluorescently label only the target DNA, resulting in reduced background noise and higher accuracy of detection.
