PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating drying furnace not wastefully using a heat source, having excellent heat efficiency. SOLUTION: This coating drying furnace 10 has: a hollow furnace part 11 having the heat source, keeping the inside at a high temperature; a chain conveyor 13 provided such that the chain conveyor 13 penetrates an inlet 12A and the outlet 12B formed in the furnace part 11; shutoff doors 14A, 14B openably and closably provided in the inlet 12A and the outlet 12B; and detectors 15A, 15B provided near the inlet 12A and the outlet 12B, and detecting a coated object 30 conveyed by the chain conveyor 13.
