PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the amount of generation of cold or heat by effectively utilizing a driving heat source. SOLUTION: A refrigerant is absorbed by an absorbent in an absorber 1. The absorbent is heated by the driving heat source in a first generator 7, and generated refrigerant vapor is supplied to second and third generators 8 and 10 as heat sources. Refrigerant vapor generated by the second and third generators 8 and 10 are supplied to a condenser 12, and condensed by radiating heat. As a result, the generated liquid refrigerant is delivered to an evaporator 2, evaporates by drawing heat from the surroundings and is returned to the absorber 1. In this case, the second and third generators 8 and 10 are equipped with exhaust heat recovery units 8a and 10a, respectively, and exhaust heat of the driving heat source used by the first generator 7 is introduced into the recovery units 8a and 10a to evaporate and separate the refrigerant by heating the absorbent.
