PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately decide whether an earthquake occurs or not, and to properly execute the coping to a management target apparatus such as a boiler when the earthquake occurs. SOLUTION: In this maintenance method, management devices 8, 9 of management bases 5, 6 receive operation information about the management target apparatus 1 via a communication means 10, and maintenance of the management target equipment 1 is executed on the basis of the received operation information. When receiving information that the earthquake is sensed from the plurality of management target apparatuses 1 within a prescribed section, the coping in earthquake occurrence is executed.
