IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD AND IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display method including a series of processing steps of accurately detecting distortion of an image projected on a projection screen and correcting the distortion on the basis of the result of detection. SOLUTION: The image display method of this invention includes: an image signal input step S1 of capturing the image signal; an image processing step S2 of converting the captured image signal into a projection image; an image projection step S3 of projecting the projected image toward the projection screen with magnification; an automatic focus adjustment step S14 of measuring a distance up to the projection screen so as to automatically adjust the focus of the projected image; an image input step S15 of capturing a reflected image of the projected image whose focus is properly adjusted in the automatic focus adjustment step S14; and an automatic distortion correction step S16 of detecting the distortion of the reflected image captured by the image input step S15 to automatically correct the distortion.
