PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and an image forming method which can perform printing by executing APP control without reducing lifetime of a motor with a brush.SOLUTION: The image forming device can adjust a printing position relative to a medium to be recorded, which comprises: a conveying mechanism portion that conveys the medium to be recorded; image forming portions which are arranged in plural numbers in a conveying direction of the medium to be conveyed and discharge ink to the medium to be recorded; detecting portions that are arranged together with the image forming portions respectively and detect edge positions of the medium to be recorded; a motor with a brush that moves the image forming portions in a vertical direction relative to the conveying direction; and a control portion that when performing printing on the medium to be recorded, calculates, on the basis of the edge positions detected by the respective detecting portions, correction amounts of positions of the image forming portions where no predetermined displacement in printing positions is seen or a reference position which is an operation position of the motor with a brush, and drives the motor with a brush to correct the reference position on the basis of the calculated correction amounts.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
