PURPOSE: A 2-dot inversion LCD and a method for driving the same are provided to compensate the pixel signal charging difference between odd- and even-numbered horizontal lines by modifying source output enable signal or gate high voltage. CONSTITUTION: A 2-dot inversion LCD includes an LCD panel(12), a gate driver(14), a data driver(16), and a timing controller(18). The data driver inverses the polarities of pixel signals by 2-dot inversion in response to polarity control signals of which polarities are inversed by a 2 horizontal period unit. The charging time of the pixel signals supplied to data lines in an even-numbered horizontal period is longer than that in an odd-numbered horizontal period. A charging time difference between an even-numbered horizontal period supplied with the pixel signals having opposite polarity from a previous horizontal period and an odd-numbered horizontal line supplied with the pixel signals having the same polarity with a previous one is compensated, thereby preventing the difference of brightness between the even- and odd-numbered horizontal lines. |
