PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicator which enables exciting play for a game machine having a rotary indicator by continuously attracting player's interest and to provide a game machine.

SOLUTION: An indicator 1 for a game machine has three transparent parts 11 at the roughly central area of a flat liquid crystal dot matrix indicator 10. A decoration indication area 14, which can change its display content, is mounted around the transparent parts 11. The dot matrix indicator has a drive device for each pixel only for the decoration indication area 14. A driver IC is also given only to the decoration indication area 14. The transparent parts 11 have color filters or are colorless. A rotation indicator and a lighting means are mounted such that a slot indication part is located on the transparent parts 11 of an indicator for a game machine such as this one.
