<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing glass, which imparts concentration distribution of a component contributing refractive index in such a state that wet gel prepared by a sol-gel method is immersed in a treating liquid, and which performs uniform treatment to a lot of wet gel and improves productivity. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing glass is equipped with a plurality of cylindrical bodies 4 for holding, in each of which the wet gel 16 is accommodated, a supporting plate 5 for supporting the plurality of cylindrical bodies 4 for holding along the circumferences of two or more concentric circles, a treating vessel 1 in which the supporting plate 5 is arranged and which performs treatment to the wet gel 16 by supplying of the treating liquid, porous plates 3, 7 in each of which a plurality of small holes are perforated in the thickness direction at a uniform pitch and which are arranged at the supplying side of the treating liquid in the treating vessel 1, and circulation supplying mechanisms 10, 11 for circularly supplying the treating liquid to the treating vessel 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
