PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to provision of recommendation information showing a recommendation category guaranteed to be associated with items according to user's taste.SOLUTION: A recommendation usefulness determination unit generates a set of recommendation candidate items. A category priority calculation unit calculates category priorities by using item association level showing intensity of association between items belonging to the set of recommendation candidate items and belonging to candidate categories and a subject to use. A category selection unit selects a recommendation category to be provided to the subject to use, from among the plurality of candidate categories on the basis of the plurality of category priorities calculated respectively for the plurality of candidate categories.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
