A slider applicator is disclosed for applying sliders to storage bags with zippers. The slider applicator includes a slider sorter and a slider pusher actuated by an actuator such as a linear servo motor. The slider pusher includes an applicating head which moves the slider and a splitter for opening and spreading the slider prior to application to the zipper of the storage bag.
