PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain an authentication of high security with a password constituted of a character string and image data. SOLUTION: When performing authentication processing by using a password constituted of an inputted character string "a9agz8" and a predetermined pixel area 8 of image data, the values of a plurality of pixels (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) and (6) of the predetermined pixel area 8 are read according to a predetermined rule from the character string constituting the password, and the combination (95, 252, 19, 187, 50, 121) of the values of the respective pixels is used as a password for authentication to perform the authentication processing.
