<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit a signal without distortion even if the number of times of multiplexing is increased and to reduce the consumption current by reducing the current of an amplifier circuit when the number of multiplexing is small in a semiconductor integrated circuit for communication that constructs a radio communication system of a code multiplex system such as a W-CDMA (wideband code division multiple access). <P>SOLUTION: The operating current of amplifier circuits (132 and 136) of a transmission system is made switchable, and the number-of-times-multiplexing information (MC) of data to be transmitted is supplied to the amplifier circuits of the transmission system from a base-band circuit (140), and a current to be allowed to flow through the amplifier circuits is switched so as to obtain the minimum ICP required to maintain linearity by the number of times of multiplexing at that time even if the number of times of multiplexing the data is changed, thereby changing a dynamic range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
