LASER LIGHT SOURCE AND LASER PROJECTION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a laser light source, to increase the output and to make the apparatus small in size and lightweight.

SOLUTION: In the laser projection apparatus, a polarization inversion layer 3 is formed on a LiTaO3substrate 1 and then an optical waveguide is formed thereon. The obtained optical wavelength converting element of the laser projection apparatus is annealed at a low temperature laser to form a stable proton exchange layer 8a in which the increase in the refractive index due to high temperature heat treatment is decreased. Thus, the phase matching wavelength can be made constant and fluctuation in the output of harmonic waves can be prevented.
