<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging technology for reducing, simply at a low cost, displacement in focusing caused by chromatic aberration of a lens system when acquiring a spectral image in a field sequence method, for a rapid and repeated acquisition of the spectral image. <P>SOLUTION: A multi-band camera comprises an imaging optical system provided with a lens system and a spectral filter plate. The spectral filter plate has a plurality of spectral regions with a different transmission wavelength band, and the spectral image of an object is acquired by the field sequence method by switching a transmission state and a shielding state in the spectral region. By adjusting a spherical aberration of the lens system, an aberration characteristics Vb is changed to an aberration characteristics Vc. The characteristics Vc of spherical aberration remaining in the lens system cancels the characteristics Va of chromatic aberration in the lens system to realize an aberration characteristics Wd which causes slight displacement in focusing. So, by adjusting a spherical aberration corresponding to the characteristics of a chromatic aberration, the displacement in focusing due to chromatic aberration is easily reduced at a low cost, for rapid and repeated acquisition of a spectral image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
