PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a comfortable driving environment by appropriately transmitting required information to a driver. SOLUTION: This vehicle steering apparatus operates a steering mechanism for turning a steering wheel 5 in response to an operation of a steering wheel 1. The apparatus comprises a reaction force actuator 9 for applying an operation reaction force to the steering wheel 1, stress sensors SL and SR for detecting stress applied to a tire of the vehicle, a turning angle sensor S3, and an axial force sensor S4 for detecting an axial force applied to a turning shaft 4. The apparatus comprises sensors such as a car speed sensor S5, a longitudinal acceleration sensor S6, and a lateral acceleration sensor S7 for detecting a physical quantity related to a moving state of the vehicle. Detected signals outputted from these sensors S1-S12 are inputted to a control device 14. The control device controls the reaction force actuator 9 based on the detected signals of the sensors S1-S12, and teaches occurrence of a certain abnormality or the like via an alarm 19.
