PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a box easily and at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a box and a machine 1 therefor, a substantially flat blank 9 with formed fold lines 13 is fed along a feed path P and extracted from the feed path P during the feeding, and transferred to a stretch-folding station 21 intersecting the feed path P. In the stretch-folding station 21, at least some of the fold lines 13 are stretched and then fed back onto the feed path P, whereby spring back to its original flat shape becomes possible.
