<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of manufacturing a thin sheet of high quality in a good yield, and to provide a solar battery made by using the thin sheet obtained by the method. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the thin sheet by immersing a substrate into a melt thereby forming the thin sheet on the substrate surface, the temperature of the substrate surface to be formed with the thin sheet is uniformly controlled during the immersion of the substrate into the melt, and the melt may contain silicon.
