<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a totally excellent photovoltaic element with a lightweight and a high conversion efficiency manufactured at a low cost in a final product form of the element provided with a transparent protection member. <P>SOLUTION: The photovoltaic element including a first pin junction having an i-type amorphous semiconductor 111, a second pin junction having an i-type microcrystal semiconductor 108, and a third pin junction having an i-type microcrystal semiconductor 105 from a light incident side in this order, is provided with at least the transparent protection member and a transparent electrode layer at the light incident side of the first pin junction, and a photoelectric current produced in the third pin junction is minimum among photoelectric currents produced in a plurality of the pin junctions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
