PURPOSE: A device for selectively processing a command by using an XML(Extensible Markup Language) data file and a method therefor are provided to use a command expressed through a GUI module by mixing a standardized XML type with a CDD(Command Data Description) type, thereby selectively using a data file of the command. CONSTITUTION: An XML data file module(13g) defines a standardized XML command, data, and type information of the command, and stores the defined command. An XML command tree module(13i) expresses the stored command in tree type, and receives a selected command from an optional manager. A command type selection module(13j) decides whether to process the selected command in CDD type. An XML-CDD data conversion module(13l) reads the data and the type information of the command if the selected command is processed in the CDD type, and converts the data into CDD data by using the type information. A parameter display module(13d) outputs the converted data so that a manager can recognize the data.
