<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where the faulty insertion of damping material caused in a contact electrification system is eliminated so as to reduce the vibrational sound of a photoreceptor drum at its stopping time and further obtain a high-quality image free from image irregularity. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is constituted by disposing a contact electrifying means by DC voltage, a laser exposure means, a reversal developing means, a contact transfer means, a cleaning means having a cleaning blade and a destaticizing means around the photoreceptor drum. In the image forming apparatus, the damping material set so that its cross section perpendicular to a rotary shaft is nearly C-shaped and the slit width of the C-shaped part is 0.5 to 3% of the peripheral length is brought into contact with the inner surface of the photoreceptor drum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
