<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lowering of output by increasing the intake air quantity during the accelerating transition and operation in a low-medium speed range of a high expansion ratio cycle engine. <P>SOLUTION: In this high expansion ratio cycle engine with a supercharger, when the engine 1 is determined to be in the accelerating transition, a supercharging pressure changing means 20 is preferentially operated to increase the intake air quantity, and when the insufficient portion of the intake air quantity cannot be compensated by the supercharging pressure changing means 20, the valve closing timing of an intake valve 5 is changed by a variable valve timing mechanism 30 to increase the intake air quantity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
