<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element having high photoelectric conversion efficiency with respect to the light including a wide range of waveform components without a receiving loss. <P>SOLUTION: A tandem photovoltaic element 100 comprises a stacked upper cell 101C and a lower cell 102C each consisting of a semiconductor layer having a different band gap from the other. All of the electrodes 103, 104 of the respective upper cell 101C and the lower cell 102C, and carrier polarizer layers 106, 107, 108, 109 around the electrodes are embedded in the semiconductor layers and are in contact with an insulating layer 110. (A) The upper cell anode 104 and a lower cell cathode 105 are provided with the insulating layer 110 interposed in between, and the upper cell cathode 103 and the lower cell anode 103 are integrally formed through the insulating layer 110. Alternatively, (B) the upper cell anode 104 and the lower cell anode 103 are provided with the insulating layer 110 interposed in between, and the upper cell cathode 103 and the lower cell cathode 105 are integrally formed through the insulating layer 110. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
