POLYESTER FILM HAVING IMPROVED OXYGEN BARRIER AND POLY(M-XYLENEADIPAMIDE) CONTAINING BASE LAYER AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF

PURPOSE: Provided are a polyester film having an improved oxygen barrier and optical property and a poly(m-xyleneadipamide)(MXD6) containing base layer which is suitable for packaging a food and other consumption goods and a process for production and use thereof. CONSTITUTION: The polyester film comprises a base layer(B) containing MXD6 and at least one overlayer(A). The base layer(B) contains 4 to 50 wt.% of MXD6 based on a weight of the base layer. The overlayer(A) contains 0.1 to 20 wt.% of MXD6 based on a weight of the outer layer. The melt viscosity of the MXD6 is 2000 poise or less. The base layer(B) contains at least 50 wt.% of a thermoplastic polyester. The thermoplastic polyester comprises an ethylene glycol unit, a terephthalic acid unit and/or an ethylene glycol unit and a naphthalene-2,6-dicarboxylic acid unit.
