PANEL FOR COLOR CATHODE RAY TUBE

PURPOSE: A panel is provided to achieve improved contrast by using a tint or a dark tint glass and luminance in the peripheral and doming portions of a screen by optimizing the screen transmissivity of the panel. CONSTITUTION: A color cathode ray tube comprises a panel having a substantially flat outer surface and a curved inner surface; a funnel mounted on the rear surface of the panel; an electron gun mounted in the neck portion of the funnel, and which emits electron beams toward a screen; and a shadow mask having a plurality of electron beam passing holes disposed at a predetermined interval on the inner surface of the panel. The electron beam passing through the panel has a screen transmissivity increasing and decreasing as it goes from the center toward the peripheral portion of the panel.
