<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information acquisition system that enables information stored in a database to be known in real time from the outside by means of a simple system arrangement, thereby making it possible to manage the inventory of articles in real time. <P>SOLUTION: In the information acquisition system for a POS terminal which uses a general public circuit, a server comprises a mail server and a database server. The mail server has a process instruction receiving means for receiving instructions; a result information returning means for returning result information to a manager's terminal; an instruction transmitting means for urging the transmission of POS terminal information; an information receiving means for receiving the POS terminal information; and a POS terminal information transmitting means for transmitting the information to the database server. The database server has a POS terminal information receiving means for receiving the POS terminal information; a POS terminal information saving means for accumulating and saving information on each POS terminal; a process executing means for processing information on the database server; and an information transfer means for transferring the information processed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
