PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system which enables a user to recognize the utterance state of his or her own uttered speech by solving the following problems: the speech recognition is not possible in some cases when the input of an instruction by the speech is carried out and user does not understand the reason why the recognition is infeasible and in some cases the user is perplexed. SOLUTION: The on-vehicle controller is equipped with a speech recognizing means for recognizing the user's speech instruction inputted from a speech input means connected to the outside and a control section for analyzing the cause of speech recognition infeasibility in the case of such infeasibility by the speech recognizing means and changing a display form of a screen of a display means connected to the outside based on the result of the analysis.
