PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jacket for a metallic handrail, which can be easily and steadily attached to the surface including a region straddling a support part of an existing metallic handrail supported with the support part, and allows easy replacement.SOLUTION: A jacket body 10 to be attached to the surface of a metallic handrail 1 is formed of a synthetic resin member which can be elastically deformed. The jacket body 10 having the inner diameter smaller than the outer diameter of the metallic handrail 1 is provided with an opening 11 which is smaller than the outer diameter and extends in the longitudinal direction, and a pair of concave grooves 12 for reserving adhesive on the inner surface on both sides of the opening 11. After an adhesive 30 is reserved in both of the concave grooves 12, the opening 11 is elastically extended wider than the outer diameter of the handrail 1, and the jacket body 10 is attached (bonded) to the surface including a region straddling a bracket 2 of the handrail 1 supported by the bracket 2. After attachment, the opening 11 is elastically extended wider than the outer diameter of the handrail 1, and the jacket body 10 is removed from the handrail 1 for replacement. |
