<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device which can realize both of large capacity of communication and improvement in communication quality by using pulse signals having a mutually orthogonal relation. <P>SOLUTION: The communication device has a serial/parallel converter 13 for converting the input data 12 to a binary signal group in parallel, a pulse generator group 14 for generating a modulation unit signal group by converting each of the signals in the binary signal group to a unit signal having at least one pulse in a unit frame and by converting it to a modulation pulse in which the amplitude of the pulse is modulated, a synthesizer 15 for generating a transmission signal by superposing the output of the pulse generator group 14, and an antenna 16 for transmitting the transmission signal.
