<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a serial printer having a single head capable of forming a high quality image and improving a system speed. <P>SOLUTION: This serial printer is equipped with a color filter part of which the color can be switched and the color filter part is disposed in an optical path between a light source and an optical shutter array. A width of scanning of a print head 24 is set to be greater than a width of an exposure region 29 of an optical recording medium 28 in a main scanning direction x. A relative position of the optical recording medium 28 to the print head 24 in the sub-scanning direction y is maintained and the plurality of times of scanning corresponding to the number of colors of the color filter part is performed by switching the color of the color filter part during a time period while the print head 24 is on a positionΔexceeding the width of the exposure region, and then the printing is sequentially performed in the sub-scanning direction y. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
