PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a virus detection function and a virus disinfection function even for a household electrical appliance having an on-board processor of low capacity and small storage area. SOLUTION: A virus detection method is composed of a server and clients. The clients 120-1, 120-2 to 120-n detect a virus preliminary with respect to data or a file of virus detection object using a virus detection tag object which the clients hold and the features of viruses are recorded on. The client, if there is a possibility that a virus exists according to the preliminary detection, makes a request of virus detection servers 110, 111, 112 for a virus detection object, and performs full-scale detection of the virus.
