PURPOSE: A photographing apparatus is provided to easily obtain an identification photo of good quality by illuminating a subject by continuous gradation soft light. CONSTITUTION: A photographing apparatus(1) is installed in a box(3). The photographing apparatus includes a photographing room(5) in which a subject(4) is positioned, and an equipment hangar(6) for hangaring a photographing equipment(8) for photographing the subject, and an image processing equipment(16) for processing and outputting images obtained by the photographing equipment. The photographing room includes a plurality of illuminating devices(11,12,13) for illuminating the subject, a plurality of display devices for displaying photograph data of the images, and an input device(9) for inputting an input signal for changing illumination conditions of the photographing room by referring to photograph data.
