SYSTEM FOR SUPPLYING BUS INFORMATION BY USING A CELLULAR PHONE AND A METHOD THEREFOR, CONCERNED WITH SUPPLYING A CURRENT POSITION AND AN ARRIVAL TIME OF A BUS NEAR TO A USER TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A system for supplying bus information by using a cellular phone and a method therefor are provided to simultaneously map position information of a user terminal with position/direction information of a requested bus, thereby supplying a current position and an arrival time of the bus near to the user terminal. CONSTITUTION: A target bus(500) consists of a GPS module(510) for perceiving position information of a bus, a direction sensor(520) for recognizing a running direction of the bus, and a wireless interface(550) for receiving measurement data and wirelessly delivering the data to a position perception system(700). A user terminal(200) consists of a key input unit(220) for inputting a service code, a bus service route, and destination information, and a wireless interface(230) for receiving bus information. The user terminal(200) requests the bus information, and transceives voice data or character data. A service supply system(400) receives the bus service route and position/direction information of the target bus(500), and receives position information of the user terminal(200). The system(400) generates optimal bus information, and transmits the target bus information to the user terminal(200).
