<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic guided vehicle capable of preventing a coupling device from being damaged and deteriorated without decelerating or stopping the vehicle in coupling. <P>SOLUTION: An impact absorbing device 4 installed in the automatic guided vehicle 1 comprises two guide members 40 and a coil spring 39. The guide members 40 are opposed to each other on both sides of the moving locus of the connection pin 33 of a carrying vehicle moving relative to a U-shaped groove 22 in the automatic guided vehicle 1 when the automatic guided vehicle 1 is coupled to a carrying vehicle. The guide members 40 are installed so as to be moved close to and apart from each other, and the coil spring 39 energizes the guide members 40 in directions for moving them in proximity to each other. The connection pin 33 is engaged with the U-shaped groove 22 after being slid between the guide members 40.
