<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant crash protection device for efficiently reducing power consumption by considering the seated state of an occupant in the seat of a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: It is judged whether the occupant is seated at a front passenger seat, based on a detection signal from a seating detection switch 15 (step 100). When occupants are judged not to be seated at the front passenger seat at this time, it is not necessary to expand a side air bag 4 for the front passenger seat. Therefore, power supply to a B pillar satellite sensor 10 utilized for expansion control in the side air bag 4 for the front passenger seat is shut off (step S110). Further, in this case, a CPU 24 does not execute reception processing of transmission signals from the B pillar satellite sensor 10, side collision judgment processing, based on the signal, and further the expansion processing, or the like, of the side air bag 4.
