<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter for a transflective liquid crystal display device of high display quality which can realize desired color characteristics (color purity, brightness and tone) separately in the reflective display and in the transmissive display, which suppresses increase in the number of the processes and which can be manufactured at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The color filter has a transmissive region and a reflective region in one pixel, and has pixels of a plurality of colors. In the transmissive region of at least one color pixel, a plurality of color layers are deposited, while in the reflective region, color layers are deposited in a smaller number than in the transmissive region. At least in the boundary of the transmissive region and the reflective region, a resin layer except for the color layers is formed.
