<p>The subject of invention is a method for plasma sterilization of air, especially the flow-through air. The method comprehends transition of air into the plasma state, rapid extermination of most of microorganisms in air due to damaging of genetic material by hard UV light irradiated by excited molecules of nitrogen oxide, destruction of all microorganisms by oxygen radicals and catalysis of radicals and decomposed products. The subject of the invention is also a device for sterilization of air, the essential part of which is also a catalyst composed of various materials, which recombine selectively plasma radicals and reaction products of plasma interaction with microorganisms into innocuous gases.</p> |
