<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection display apparatus with a curved screen that has a function for view distance and field angle adjustments and enables the whole picture to be viewed with high luminance. <P>SOLUTION: This projection type video reproducing apparatus includes monochromatic CRTs (cathode ray tubes) of R, G and B, three projection lenses which are arranged in front of the R (red), G (green) and B (blue) monochromatic CRTs and enlarge and project image sources of fluorescent surfaces of the monochromatic CRTs of R, G and B with a specified magnification, and the screen which has specified concave curvatures in a view direction for control over a view distance and on which light beams projected by the projection lenses are imaged respectively. The screen includes a Fresnel screen which changes the light beams incident from the projection lenses to have specified light directivity along optical axes and a lenticular screen which is arranged in front of the Fresnel screen and has curvature corresponding to that of the Fresnel lens and forms a picture with light passed through the Fresnel lens to adjust a field angle for higher luminance of the whole screen.
