<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a double-face display type liquid crystal display in which display with excellent visibility can be obtained without depending on lighting conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display is equipped with: one liquid crystal display element 1 composed of: a liquid crystal cell 2 comprising transparent substrates opposing to each other via a liquid crystal and two pairs of polarizing plates 5, 6, 7, 8 stuck to the opposing faces of the liquid crystal cell 2 in separated regions; a transflective plate 9 disposed in one substrate 3 side of the liquid crystal display element 1; a surface light source 19 disposed outside of the plate 9; a transflective plate 10 disposed in the other substrate 4 side; and a surface light source 20 disposed outside of the plate 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
