<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective glove comprising a high strength polyethylene fiber having comparable or larger strength and elastic modulus than those of conventional high strength polyethylene, excellent in resistance to fatigue from flexing and abrasion resistance, hardly fibrillated and having high surface hardness. <P>SOLUTION: The protective glove comprises a high strength polyethylene fiber having recurring units of substantially ethylene,≥5 intrinsic viscosity and≥22 cN/dtex average strength, wherein the measurement of the fiber by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) exhibits a temperature-increasing DSC curve having at least one endothermic peak at a temperature range of 140°C to 148°C (on the low temperature side) and at least one endothermic peak at a temperature range of≥148°C (on the high temperature side) or the number of frictions until the fiber being broken in an abrasion test according to method B for measuring abrasion resistance in the Testing Methods for Spun Yarn (JIS L 1095) is 100,000 or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
