<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-cell type or a multi-cell type battery or a capacitor capable of meeting the needs for space saving. <P>SOLUTION: A battery and a capacitor 1 has a pressure vessel 2 and a battery element or a capacitor element 8 housed in the pressure vessel 2 whose inside surface 4 is provided with a grade 5 in a direction of pulling off from a mold to an opening part 6 of the vessel 2. The side face 9 of the battery element or the capacitor element 8 has the grade 10 having the same directional inclination as that of the vessel 2. The opening parts of a plurality of cells in the pressure vessel are opened at the face of the cell adjacent each other opposite to the pressure vessel.
