<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly shorten wait time from a call of a car to its arrival by increasing at least either of elevation acceleration and elevation speed of the car when there is no user in the car to eliminate user's feeling of irritation. <P>SOLUTION: When call information is outputted from either of each call inputting device 9, 13 and a current position of the car 3 is different from a story floor where call information is outputted, whether a load detection signal outputted from a load detection device 10 indicates that user is zero or not and whether an empty condition detection signal is outputted from a user presence or absence detection device or not are checked by a controller 14.
