PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a release agent for an electrophotographic toner and an electrophotographic toner excellent in low-temperature fixability, anti-offset properties, development durability, long-term storage stability, chargeability and grindability. SOLUTION: The release agent for an electrophotographic toner for electrostatic charge image development containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a release agent comprises a polyolefin wax comprising a specified ethylene homopolymer or ethylene/3-10Cα-olefin copolymer synthesized with a metallocene catalyst. Thus, a release agent for an electrophotographic toner capable of meeting needs rising in recent years, such as speeding up and lower-temperature fixation in a copying machine and a printer is obtained.
