PURPOSE: A method of making ssanghwatang as a name of a traditional herbal formula by extracting medicinal herbs within a short time and concentrating under reduced pressure is provided. It minimizes destruction of nutritious and pharmacological components and produces the product improved in functionality, organoleptic properties, effectiveness and simplicity during taking medicine. CONSTITUTION: The ssanghwatang powder comprises 40 to 60% by weight of medicinal herbs and 40 to 60% by weight of glucose having a dextrose equivalent value of 4 to 6. The medicinal herbs contain 28 to 30% by weight of Cnidii Rhizoma, 10 to 13% by weight of Angelicae Gigantis Radix, 18 to 20% by weight of Paeoniae Radix, 9 to 11% by weight of Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, 6 to 8% by weight of Cinnamomi Cortex, 8 to 10% by weight of Glycyrrhizae Radix and 11 to 13% by weight of Astragali Radix. The glucose is one or two or more selected from maltodextrin, isodextrin, oligodextrin, gum and lactose. The medicinal herbs are extracted in a solvent at 90deg.C or more for 4hr and mixed with glucose and concentrating under reduced pressure. The solvent contains 60 to 80% by weight of purified water and 20 to 40% by weight of spirits. |
