FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, method of forecasting microstructure obtained at hardening of melted cast irons with compact and globular graphite. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves simultaneously registering at least two cooling curves in central and peripheral zones at distances r1, r2, respectively, from center of sample crystallizer; obtaining at least two heat dismissal curves on the basis of resultant information; comparing heat dismissal curves with preliminarily determined heat dismissal curves corresponding to known structure modifier concentrations, with preliminarily determined heat dismissal modifiers being obtained at conditions similar to those of previous stages; determining amounts of structure modifier to be added into melt on the basis of comparison and controlling precise amounts of said modifier to be fed into melt; providing casting operation and forecasting microstructure with the use of computerized regulation system. Computer has access to taring data, for example, for preliminarily registered modeling curves corresponding to known amounts of structure modifier, in memory unit and computes amounts of structure modifier to be added into melt. ^ EFFECT: increased efficiency owing to pouring of cast iron with compact and globular graphite at large-scale industrial enterprise due to strict and reliable forecasting of ingot microstructure by means of computer. ^ 6 cl, 8 dwg |
