PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method in a wired/ wireless communication system using markup language, wherein regulations of a structure with respect to a message used in markup language are realized while having various types of authentication methods, thereby being capable of variously selecting a type of an authentication method between a client and a server, and to provide an authentication method in a wired/ wireless communication system using markup language, which enables strong interactive authentication by dynamically selecting the type of the authentication method between the client and the server. SOLUTION: Authentication in a wired/wireless communication system using markup language is carried out by declaring various types of the authentication methods to a DTD which declares a structure of the markup language and dynamically selecting the type of the authentication method conducted between the client and the server from among the various types of the authentication methods declared.
