METHOD OF MANUFACTURING LIGHT SWITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high performance and inexpensive light switch by reducing the cost by improving the optical characteristic performance and largely reducing processing time. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the light switch which has a pipe line 3 having a wall having a predetermined angle with respect to the optical axes of waveguides at an intersection at which the optical waveguides cross each other on an optical waveguide substrate 1; a part of the pipe line 3 filled with a refractive index alignment liquid having a refractive index equal to that of the optical waveguide; and a heating means in the vicinity of the pipe line 3, and the optical path is switched between the optical waveguides crossing each other by moving the refractive index arrangement liquid in the pipe line 3, the pipe line 3 is formed by a dicing technology and a resin formation technology.
